Coparenting Consultation & Mediation Services
The transition of separation or divorce is a profound shift for any family. While the structure of your household is changing, the need for a stable, cooperative co-parenting relationship remains vital for the well-being of your children. This service is a specialized form of family therapy designed to provide a structured, neutral space to help parents navigate the complexities of this transition with clarity and intention, with focus on the emotional health of the children.
A Focus on Cooperation
It is important to note that this service is solely dedicated to the development of effective co-parenting skills; it is not intended for reconciliation purposes. If you and your partner are interested in exploring the potential for reconciliation, please refer to our Couples Counseling page to learn more about how we can support you in that process.
For those engaging in co-parenting work, we will focus on:
-
Skill-Building for Cooperation: Developing effective communication strategies that reduce conflict and prioritize productive, child-focused interactions.
-
Creating Stability for Children: Establishing consistent routines, clear boundaries, and predictable expectations across households, ensuring your children feel secure and supported during this time of change.
-
Mediating Challenges: Providing a neutral forum to navigate disagreements regarding parenting styles, scheduling, and logistical decisions, allowing you to reach agreements that center the children’s needs.
-
Developing a Shared Roadmap: Translating your goals into a collaborative framework, helping you move from a place of tension toward a functional, sustainable co-parenting partnership.
Why Choose Consultation & Mediation?
Co-parenting is a skill that must be learned, especially in the wake of significant life changes. My role is to help you "lower the heat" of conflict so you can make decisions based on your children’s best interests rather than past relationship dynamics. By utilizing a systemic family therapy approach, we work to heal the gaps in your co-parenting system so your children can thrive.
Disclaimer: While this service is a form of family therapy focused on co-parenting skill-building and mediation, it is not intended to provide legal advice and should not be used as a substitute for consultation with an attorney. To ensure this remains a safe, neutral space where each parent feels free to speak openly and candidly, I do not participate in legal custody disputes or provide recommendations for court proceedings.
In the rare event that I am required by court-ordered subpoena to appear for testimony, document preparation, or travel related to legal matters, a professional rate of $300 per hour will apply. Please note that these administrative services are not clinical in nature and are not covered by insurance.
