About Me

I believe that the most effective therapy happens at the intersection of clinical expertise and genuine human experience. My path to becoming a therapist was not a straight line, but rather a journey shaped by both rigorous academic training and the profound, messy, and rewarding realities of life itself.

My Perspective: The Professional & The Personal

My approach is grounded in the belief that therapy should be a space of profound safety. I bring a deep, evidence-based toolkit to our work, but I also bring a heart that understands how heavy the weight of what you are carrying can be.

I have spent years studying and supporting others in understanding the intricacies of relational dynamics, human behavior, and the many nuances of the human experience. Yet, my passion for these niches— individual support, parenting, co-parenting, blending families, and navigating the complexities of divorce—is also fueled by my own lived experience. I know what it feels like on a personal level to navigate the transition of separation, to overcome the guilt and pressure of perfection in parenting and motherhood, the many nuances and both internal and interpersonal complications that can arise in efforts to set healthy boundaries that respect both your loved ones, and your authentic self, to balance the delicate act of co-parenting, and to face the unique challenges of building a healthy blended family.  I understand, both professionally and personally, the toll that anxiety, grief, and the erosion of self-esteem can take on your capacity to show up for others and just in life. This dual perspective is the bedrock of my practice: I am here with the clinical education, experience, and skills to help you find your way, and I am here with the compassion of someone who knows that you ARE enough and capable of facing these challenges---all of these challenges pose an opportunity for growth and your story does not end at your most difficult chapters.

My Clinical Foundation

My practice is largely based on a collaborative, compassionate therapeutic alliance and designed to meet you exactly where you are. My work is informed by:

  • Core Clinical Training: Both my undergraduate experience and post-graduate clinical supervision were built on a strong foundation of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), allowing me to help clients manage intense emotions, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and build practical, actionable skills for daily life.

  • Evidence-Based Specialization: I hold certifications and training in EFT-C (intensive Emotionally-Focused Therapy for Couples) and integrative, intensive work for premarital counseling, blending families, and high-conflict couples. I am a Certified Facilitator with Prepare Enrich, which allows me to offer an incredibly comprehensive and evidence-based assessment, providing tangible results and guidance in our journey of premarital counseling, couple's therapy, or blending families and step-parenting challenges. My work with parents and children is built upon years of self-directed study, graduate research, and professional experience utilizing positive parenting and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) frameworks. I rely heavily on attachment-based, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Existential-Humanistic Therapy in my work with individuals as well.

  • A Systemic Philosophy: Whether we are working in individual, couples, or family sessions, I view every challenge through a humanistic and systemic lens. We don’t just treat the "symptoms"; we look at the context, patterns, the history, and the cycles and barriers that have brought you to this moment, and we work together to rewrite what no longer serves you to into what supports your goals, personal growth, and well-being where you are today.

Why I Do This

I do this work because I believe that therapy should be a collaborative, authentic, supportive relationship, and because I believe we all have value and worth and deserve compassion, support, and a path towards healing-- regardless of past choices or life transitions or circumstances, and especially in our most difficult seasons.  Whether it is a marriage in crisis, a family in transition, or a personal struggle with self-worth, anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges—there is a path toward connection, clarity, self-compassion, and personal growth.  Therapeutically, I am not interested in fitting you into a box. I am interested in your unique story and individual potential. I want to help you uncover what you are capable of, move beyond the limitations of past trauma or current overwhelm, and set meaningful, achievable goals for your life. My role is to be your partner in reclaiming your agency, and helping you build a life that feels authentic, sustainable, and deeply connected to who you truly are.
